Katy Trail Ice House
The Katy Trail Ice House is an Uptown staple, and arguably the most-happening location on the trail during the warmer summer and spring seasons. The outdoor patio is always vibrantly bustling with people and friendly pets in the evenings, watching sporting events or socializing with coworkers and friends. This Austin style beer garden and restaurant is walking distance from any of these 8 locations! Happy Hour is Monday-Friday from 4-7pm!
The Rustic is the perfect gathering location if you and your friends enjoy live music, local beer and wine, and a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Enjoy an evening in or outdoors surrounded by oak trees, sitting at one of the oversized picnic tables overlooking the well-lit Rustic stage and the winner of D Magazine’s Best of Big D Patios since 2014.
The Ginger Man
The Ginger Man is a warm and rustic Uptown hang-out spot with an airy patio for sitting and socializing with local brews and pub grub, located off Boll Street in Dallas.
If you’re into the night-life scene, there are several clubs and bars located in the Uptown and Oak Lawn areas including: Pub Pegasus, Midnight Rambler, The Dragonfly, Parliament, Sons of Hermann Hall, and The Beauty Bar.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar
Hopdoddy Burger Bar is known by many as the best burger in Dallas, the Hopdoddy Burger Bar is walking distance from the Katy Trail in Uptown Dallas. Their fresh, all-natural ingredients make their burgers, salads and sides a fan favorite in the Dallas area. Don’t forget to try the Red Velvet Cake Shake, and ordering online makes for an easy pick-up order to go!
Village Burger Bar
Right up the road, you’ll find Village Burger Bar in the West Village with a comfortable patio made for a quick lunch or an evening out with friends. Famous for their daily drink specials (try the Sangria), local Texas brews and the must-have DBL Sweet Potato Fries (tossed with cinnamon & local honey).
Yolk is a fresh and new, organic eatery that is located off Westchester Drive with another location opening soon off of Routh Street. Their specialty juices, premium coffee and wide range of food selection makes this a great stop for everyone in the family! Must-have dishes include: the pot roast benedict, eggs florentine and the red velvet french toast. Stay until lunch if you’d like to and choose from an assortment of salads, sandwiches and burgers!
Breadwinners Cafe will become a weekend staple if you’re a fan of bakery style pastries and brunch. This quaint cafe is a Dallas favorite to many, and has been holding down its space on McKinney Avenue for years. Be sure to try their made-fresh-daily array of pastries, breads and desserts!
Sushi Zushi is the place to go if you are craving an authentic wrap or roll. Located in the heart of The West Village Shopping Centre, this makes for a great stop after an afternoon of running errands. Ordering online makes for an easy pick-up!
Sambuca is perfect for a Sunday afternoon brunch with the family or an evening out with your special someone. The Uptown Dallas location carries a savory American menu and has a variety of nightly live music. Happy Hour is on weekdays from 4-7pm with $3 beers, $4 wines and $5 cocktails.
S.&D. Oyster Company
S.&D. Oyster Company is another Dallas icon, and famously known for being Owen Wilson’s place of former employment! Just a few minutes drive from Katy Trail, this cozy little seafood joint makes its home right on McKinney Ave. They only serve fresh Gulf seafood and keep it simple. What they do, they do well!
If you’re living in or just visiting the Dallas area, Sissy’s Southern Kitchen & Bar is a must-stop, must-eat location. Home of Dallas’ best chicken & waffles, this traditional Mississippi Delta cuisine, cocktails and decor are sure to give you the southern home-style cooking experience you’ve been waiting for. Located near Katy Trail, right off North Henderson Avenue in Dallas, TX.
You can’t call yourself a true Texan if you don’t enjoy a little Tex-Mex from time to time. The Knox-McKinney Avenue Chuy’s location is just minutes from Katy Trail, with Texas-sized servings and a list of signature drinks and margaritas to choose from. Make sure to order the Chile Con Queso with the complementary chips and salsa!

If you choose to reside in one of the 8 best locations off the Katy Trail, you (and your pets) will have plenty of outdoor activities, patios, parks and playgrounds to choose from.
One of the best picnic and play locations near the Katy Trail is called Snyder’s Union, right across from Lee Park. This is a great, quiet spot to spend an evening with the family or playing fetch with your dog on the expanse of green grass next to the water by Turtle Creek.
Klyde Warren Park
Klyde Warren Park is a gem in the heart of the city, located only 2 miles from Katy Trail. From food trucks to live music, reading rooms and restaurants–Klyde Warren has something for everyone. Grab a book and take your children to the Children’s Park for an afternoon of outdoor entertainment, or bring your dog to meet some furry friends at the Dog Park. You can’t move to an area these days without knowing where you’ll get your morning coffee fix. Thankfully, Dallas is brimming (right to the top of the cup) with five-star, hot and cold java options. These locations can be found near the Katy Trail area, and make a great, quiet work-space or meeting location: Magnolias Sous Le Pont, Method Coffee, Union Coffee, Houndstooth, and Ascension, near the design district.

Dallas is buzzing with activities for singles, families and even–your pets! From sporting events, museums, parks and concerts–you won’t have trouble finding things to do.
The American Airlines Center
The American Airlines Center can be found right in Victory Park, at the end of Katy Trail. This will be a frequented location for you with upscale bars and restaurants, music and seasonal sporting events and you’ll always have New Year’s plans with the biggest party in the city held yearly right in Victory Park.
If art, history and science museums happen to be your forte, you’re living in the right area. Take your pick from The Dallas Museum of Art, the beautiful Perot Museum of Nature and Science, or the 6th Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. All are within several miles of the Katy Trail properties.
West Village Shopping Center
West Village Shopping Center has all of your shopping, entertainment and meal options covered. View showtimes for movies at The Magnolia, or schedule a pedicure at one of the high end nail salons after a long day of shopping at the many boutiques and retail shops on the strip. Hop on the complementary Dallas Trolley from West Village to get from place to place, and enjoy a brief historic tour of your city!
